The Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA) has launched a tender to set up 16 MW of cumulative rooftop solar PV capacity on various statengovernment buildings within the state. This grid interactive capacity needs to be installed in the form of system ranges of 1 kW to 500 kW for captive use.
Tender documents describe the scope of work as design, manufacture, supply, erection, testing and commissioning along with comprehensive warranty maintenance for a period of 5 years post commissioning.
Prospective bidders can apply for the rate contract tender under the so-called CAPEX model latest by September 23, 2019. Details about the tender are available on UPNEDA website.
In June 2019, UPNEDA’s 500 MW solar tender received lukewarm response from developers as total bids received amounted to 90 MW and awarded 72 MW in total (see 100 MW Solar Tender By EESL; UPNEDA Tender Results).
Another rooftop solar tender has been launched by the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) which is actually a re-issue of the 97.5 MW tender issued in February 2019 (see SECI Tenders For Over 1 GW Solar). The central government agency is seeking bids to implement 97.5 MW of grid connected rooftop solar PV system for government buildings across India under a CAPEX/RESCO model. Bids received against the previous tender will not be considered for this one. Bidders need to submit fresh responses.
Mercom India Research believes the tender has been relaunched after multiple deadline extensions owing to inadequate bidder participation.
As per the revised tender schedule, SECI will accept proposals from interested developers till September 30, 2019.
