Italian PV equipment manufacturer Ecoprogetti has set up a 250 MW automatic production line for bifacial double glass modules in Morocco. The client is solar glass module manufacturer Almaden Morocco.
Almaden Morocco has switched on the production line already on July 5, 2018; it is now in the production ramp-up phase. The line is expected to be fully commissioned at its factory in Al Hoceima, Morocco in October 2018.
Almaden Morocco is part of China’s Almaden, which produces solar glass and solar modules, and owns a manufacturing facility in Dubai as well. In Morocco, it wants to focus solely on producing double glass modules. The full range of panels will include the following formats: B40, B60 (bifacial), M60 (mono) and P60 (poly) as well as B50, B72 (bifacial), and M72 (Mono).
Ecoprogetti says all machines of the line are connected through internet service monitoring tools to allow for both remote and on-site assistance. The Italian company says it has installed a complete quality control island at the end of the line, which is integrated with latest technologies for quality testing. It says this is the largest module line in North Africa.
