Thailand’s B.Grimm Power Public Company Limited has secured a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA) with Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) for a 257 MW solar power plant in Vietnam. The Hoa Hoi Solar Plant will be established in Phu Yen Province of Vietnam and will be developed by a project company, Phu Yen TTP Joint Stock Company.
In August 2018, B.Grimm acquired a majority stake in the 257 MW project from Vietnam’s Truong Thanh Vietnam Group (TTVN), which is now a 80% shareholder in the project company.
According to B.Grimm, the PPA with EVN allows it to sell clean power to EVN for a tariff of $0.0935 per kWh for a period of 20 years, once the project is commissioned by June 30, 2019.
In September 2018, B.Grimm and Vietnam’s Xuan Cau signed a PPA with EVN for another and the largest planned PV project in Vietnam, with 420 MW capacity (see PPA Signed For 420 MW Vietnam PV Plant).
