Key Takeaways

  • Esdec of the Netherlands has acquired solar rooftop mounting solutions player in America, EcoFasten Solar
  • This is the second milestone for Esdec that launched in America a year back in September 2017 with its FlatFix system for flat roofs
  • With the acquisition of EcoFasten Solar, Esdec will create a single portfolio that will offer rooftop solar mounting solutions for American and European markets

Netherlands based solar panel mounting solutions company Esdec has acquired American rooftop solar mounting systems company EcoFasten Solar, creating a ‘second milestone for Esdec in a relatively short time since its launch in America’. In September 2017, Esdec launched its FlatFix system for flat roofs for the American market.

With an office in Atlanta, Esdec now plans to combine Arizona headquartered EcoFasten’s portfolio along with its own to form a single portfolio. EcoFasten has installed more than 3 GW of solar panels using its unique rail-less system in the country, while Esdec claims to have installed more than 3 GW of solar panels on its mounting solutions in Europe.

“Esdec and Ecofasten fit together perfectly,” said Stijn Vos, global CEO of Esdec. “Both companies have proven that they are capable of developing distinctive products that make the life of solar installers a lot easier. By combining the innovative strength of both companies and bringing together the knowledge on the European and American market, we are able to accelerate innovation and provide even better service to installers.”

Esdec said both the companies will also join forces to speed up research, development and testing of new assembly systems in the Esdec innovation Centre that opened on October 10, 2018 in Deventer, targeting both American and European markets.
