Indian solar module maker Vikram Solar Ltd. has opened its second US office – this time, in Framingham, Massachusetts. Its first office is located in New York.
With another US office, it hopes to beat time-zone differences, and also enhance the ease of doing business via quicker responses in business communication. Along with strengthening its presence in the US, the strategic location is expected to help its expansion into the Canadian market as well, according to Vikram Solar’s Head of US Business Development Jay Sharma.
“A physical office facilitates smoother logistics through easier communication in production updates and eases the placing of orders for USA buyers with multiple choices of delivery,” said Sharma.
Headquartered in India’s West Bengal, Vikram Solar has offices across India with international offices in Germany, Latin America, Africa, Japan, Singapore and China.
Last June, the company added 500 MW module manufacturing capacity, which took total capacity to 1 GW. It is now targeting 2 GW by 2020 (see Vikram Solar Expands Capacity To 1 GW). Vikram Solar also provides engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) along with operations and maintenance (O&M) services for power plants.
