Trina Solar’s forecast for 9M/2020: During the first 3 quarters of 2020, Trina Solar expects to have earned net profit in the range of RMB 755 million and RMB 836 million, increasing by 98.77% to 120.10% annually. Management attributes this anticipated forecast to the good development trend in the global solar PV industry and demand for its products in the overseas markets along with Trina Solar’s accelerated technology and product innovation.
5 GW PV project planned for Inner Mongolia: Guodian Power (GD Power) has entered into a framework cooperation agreement with the People’s Government of Yijinhuolo Banner for the development of a 5 GW solar PV project in Yijinhuolo Banner through Inner Mongolia New Energy Company. On completion, it is expected to generate around 8.5 billion kWh of clean power annually. GD Power estimates the project to cost an investment of RMB 22 billion. It says the project will combine local industrial advantages to introduce advanced technologies as energy storage, hydrogen production and perovskite to promote fuel cell and hydrogen energy industries as well, among others.
JA Solar modules for floating PV projects: JA Solar says it has supplied its solar modules for 2 floating solar PV projects in Spain and Malaysia. The Spanish project on Sierra Brava reservoir, now grid connected, with 1.1 MW capacity includes both mono facial and bifacial solar modules and is the 1st floating PV project in the country (see Spain Gets Country’s ‘First’ Floating Solar Plant). The Malaysian project is also the country’s debut floating solar PV project, says JA Solar, with 10 MW capacity in the state of Selangor. The company has supplied its double glass modules for the facility that’s now connected to the grid.
TBEA places 67 MW tracker order with Clenergy: TBEA has procured single axis solar PV module trackers for its 67 MW demonstration project in Shihezi city from Clenergy for a total value of RMB 29 million. Last month, Clenergy secured 293 MW order from TBEA out of 600 MW capacity solicited by the latter (see China PV News Snippets: Clenergy, Trina, LONGi, Huarong).
