West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (WBSEDCL) has invited bids for solar power projects of over 6.5 MW capacity. The tender has been issued as part of Deen Dayal Upadhyay Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY).
DDUGJY is a Government of India scheme that aims to provide round the clock power supply to rural households and adequate power to agricultural consumers. The nodal agency for the implementation of the program is Rural Electrification Corporation Limited (REC).
The tender requires the successful bidders to supply, install and commission the solar PV power generation plant. They will have to also provide five years comprehensive maintenance along with ensuring household service connection for so called “below poverty line (BPL)” and “above poverty line (APL)” homes.
The 6.5 MW of cumulative capacity will power 76 villages in the state. These villages are spread out in the districts of Coochbehar, Murshidabad, Bankura, Purulia, Burdwan, North 24 Parganas, Nadia, Purbo Midnapur and Malda.
Estimated project cost amounts to 1.14 billion INR ($17.67 million).
Bid documents will be available for purchase until August 11, 2017. Submission deadline is August 12, 2017. Documents can be accessed on the WBSEDCL website.
