German renewable energy company BayWa r.e. has shuffled its leadership in the Americas, elevating its existing management to the top level of BayWa r.e. Solar Projects LLC. This company builds utility scale solar and energy storage projects in the US and Mexico and claims to have over 3 GW of growing pipeline across the Americas.
From being the Executive Vice President (EVP) of Commercial Development in the group, Fred Robinson has now been announced as the CEO of BayWa Solar Projects LLC. In his new role, he will lead the company’s ongoing expansion in the region. Geoff Fallon, hitherto the EVP of Development in the group, has been promoted to BayWa r.e. Solar Projects LLC’s COO.
Simultaneously, the group has formed a new subsidiary calling it BayWa r.e. Operation Services under the aegis of BayWa r.e. Solar Projects LLC that has been designed to provide asset management and operations services for utility scale solar and energy storage projects.
While Robinson and Fallon came to BayWa from US based Cypress Creek Renewables, Barnes comes from Oak Creek Energy Systems, also US based.
“Launching the Operation Services group will give BayWa r.e. the ability to provide proactive, real-time services to assets located in the US and Mexico,” said Director of Projects, Americas at BayWa r.e. USA LLC, BayWa r.e.’s Americas holding organization, Alex Veeser.
In July 2021, BayWa r.e. USA LLC rebranded and formally launched Enable Energy as BayWa r.e. Power Solutions Inc., an EPC company of the group (see North America PV Snippets: BayWa, Cenovus, Sunnova).
