Hao Wu Joins Sky Solar As CEO With Immediate Effect Post Unceremonious Exit Of Su
(08. June 2017)
Chinese solar power developer Sky Solar Holdings, Ltd., has appointed Naiwei Chen as an independent director of the company with effect from July 7, 2017. He will also be a member of its nominating and corporate governance committee.
Chen is a professor at Fudan University Law School. He also serves as independent director of other companies, including Shanghai Jiabao Co., Ltd., Spring Airlines Co., Ltd.
Sky Solar has been going through some big changes in its top management. In June 2017, it announced departure of its CEO Weili Su (see Sky Solar Replaces CEO Weili Su). He was replaced with Hao Wu with immediate effect. While the company did not offer any reason for the exit of Su back then, the management announced it had formed an independent committee to investigate his conduct in relation to ‘certain transactions and fund transfers which appear to lack proper board and audit committee authorization’. Su’s name, however, was still listed on the company’s website as CEO, Chairman of the Board and Founder on July 12, 2017.
Another independent director Andrew Y. Yan had also resigned as an independent director for personal reasons, Sky Solar announced in mid-June. He was replaced by Glen Wei. The company had stated that it is looking for candidates for vacated management positions.
