LONGi has sold over 50 GW Hi-MO 5 modules since June 2020; SC-Solar lands 4 GW HJT order; JA Solar to source 276 million sq. mtr. PV glass from Changzhou Almaden; Levima to build 200,000 ton EVA project; Runda planning 7.5 GW cell fab in Jiahu; JinkoSolar to distribute solar and storage products in Australia through Blue Sun.

LONGi’s Hi-MO 5 module shipments exceed 50 GW: LONGi says as of December 15, 2022 its global shipments of Hi-MO 5 solar modules have exceeded 50 GW with cumulative shipments now approaching 100 million panels. These panels were first launched in June 2020 based on 182mm wafer sized cells. It also has a residential rooftop panel variant in the series with 415W output (see New LONGi PV Rooftop Module With 415W Output). The manufacturer refers to industry sources to claim market share of 182mm modules has grown to 70% in 2022, up from 27% in 2021. LONGi’s Jason Yan recently presented at TaiyangNews’ High Efficiency Solar Conference 2022 about Evolution of PV Cell and Module Technology, which can be viewed here.

SC-Solar wins 4 GW HJT order: SC-Solar has secured an order for 4 GW worth of cleaning and texturing equipment, pre-cleaning equipment and etching cleaning equipment for heterojunction (HJT) technology from Gold Stone Energy. The latter recently announced achieving 24.46% efficiency for HJT modules (see China PV News Snippets).

Almaden and JA Solar announce partnership: Changzhou Almaden has announced signing a strategic cooperation agreement with JA Solar for supply of 276 million sq. mtr. PV glass for an estimated RMB 6 billion. It will target to deliver this capacity between January 1, 2023 and December 31, 2025.

Levima to invest in EVA production: Levima Advanced Materials will invest in the construction of an integrated project of new energy and biodegradable materials through its holding subsidiary Levima Green (Shandong) New Material Co., Ltd. It stated that the integrated project will include constructing 200,000 ton per year EVA, 1.3 million ton per year DMTO, 300,000 ton per year PO, 50,000 ton per year PPC and 20,000 Nm3/h PSA device. Of this, the 200,000 ton EVA project adopts LyondellBasell High-pressure tubular technology.

Runda to build 7.5 GW cell capacity: Runda has signed a project investment agreement with the management committee of Jiahu County Development Zone in Jiangsu province. Its wholly-owned subsidiary Jiangsu Runda New Energy Technology will realize a 7.5 GW solar cell production project to help expand the company’s production and operational capacity and improve its competitiveness.
