Yangzhou holds signing ceremony for 10 GW cell & 10 GW module fabs: Yangzhou City Economic and Technological Development Zone held a signing ceremony for a major green, low-carbon and new energy project, according to Photovoltaic Network News. In the ceremony, companies like Jiangxi Haiyuan, state-owned Huaneng Jiangsu Energy Development Co., Ltd., and solar cell electroplating solutions developer Suzhou JBAO Technology jointly invested in the construction of 10 GW solar cell and 10 GW module production facilities. The total investment of the project is RMB 10.5 billion ($1.64 billion) and will be spread across 700 acres.
Unisun & China Huaneng to construct 100 MW PV project: Netherlands-based clean energy group Unisun Energy Group and power sources developer China Huaneng Group will be jointly constructing a 100 MW PV power generation project, according to Photovoltaic Network News. The investment is about RMB 430 million ($67.27 million) and on completion, the project is expected to provide 110 million kWh of green and clean energy to the local area each year.
Shuangliang Eco-Energy to buy polysilicon from Asia Silicon: China headquartered solar PV production equipment maker Shuangliang Eco-Energy announced that its subsidiary Shuangliang Silicon Materials (Baotou) Co., Ltd. has signed a long-term order and sales contract with Asia Silicon. As per the agreement, Shuangliang Silicon will purchase approximately 25,210 tons of polysilicon materials from Asia Silicon during the period December 2021 to November 2026. The per-month purchase quantity will be subject to the actual order-signing that will take monthly. In March, Shuangliang Eco-Energy announced its plans to venture into solar wafer and ingot production through its subsidiary Shuangliang Silicon Materials (Baotou) Co., Ltd. (see Shuangliang Eco-Energy: 40 GW Mono Wafer Capacity).
Zhonghuan Semiconductor’s DW Smart Factory (Phase III) project begins: Phase III of Chinese solar wafer manufacturer Tianjin Zhonghuan Semiconductor’s (TZS) DW Smart Factory has begun construction, a news report said. This project is located in Tianjin Binhai High-tech Zone, with a total area of 160 acres and a planned investment of RMB 3 billion ($0.47 billion). Last year, TZS began commenced trial production on a 10 GW manufacturing project of 210 mm wafers (see Tianjin Zhonghuan Starts Trial On 10 GW Wafer Fab).
Risen participates in PV & energy storage outdoor empirical platform: The first phase of a what is claimed to be the first photovoltaic and energy storage outdoor empirical experimental platform was completed and connected to the grid in Heilongjiang, a news report said. The project was undertaken by the State Power Investment Huanghe Hydropower Development Co., Ltd. Risen had provided 5.7 MW high-efficiency heterojunction modules, 1.23 MW mono PERC 590W bifacial modules, and 9.5 MW mono PERC 500 W bifacial modules. At the TaiyangNews Conference on November 15/16, 2021, Pengfei Zou, Chief Pre-Sales Engineer of Risen Energy, talked about Development Trend of Size and Advancement in System Compatibility of 210 mm Modules (see Pengfei Zou, Risen: Development Trend of Size & Advancement in System Compatibility of 210mm Modules)
