10 GW PV module production by Trina Solar: Trina Solar has announced an investment agreement with the local government agency of Jiangsu province, Jiangsu Dafeng Port Economic Development Zone to set up 10 GW high efficiency solar PV module production capacity in the province. The facility will take 18 months to construct and will be completed in one go with an investment of RMB 2.5 billion ($368 million). On completion, the project is estimated to generate around RMB 13.5 billion ($2 billion) in annual sales as the management expects price of PV modules in 2021-2022 to range within RMB 1.3 to RMB 1.4 ($0.19 to $0.21) per W.

Last month, the PV manufacturer said it will build 15 GW high efficiency solar module production capacity in Changzhou for RMB 3 billion. These planned investments are aligned with the company’s strategic plan to have not less than 50 GW of cumulative solar PV module production capacity by the end of 2021 (see Trina Plans 15 GW Solar Module Production Capacity).

20 GW CECEP solar cell factory: CECEP Solar Energy Technology Co., Ltd, through its wholly owned subsidiary Solar Energy Technology Co., Ltd, plans to set up 20 GW high efficiency solar cell capacity with PERC technology. Under phase I, it will pursue high efficiency solar cell production with an annual output of 6.5 GW to be added in the same amount annually till the 20 GW target is achieved. It will also develop 4.5 GW module capacity at its existing location to be developed as 1.5 GW in phase I.

230 MW agrivoltaic project in Puding: China Huadian Group will build a 230 MW agrivoltaic power generation project under an agreement with Puding county. The framework agreement for this project is expected to inject strong impetus into the county’s poverty alleviation and economic and social development, according to Polaris Solar Photovoltaic Network.
