Q Energy ventures into Dutch solar market; Solarpack will acquire Solaer; Mainstream expands trade facility by €100 million; Gonvarri Solar Steel bags 150 MW Grenergy order; Menlo Electric responds to growing solar demand in Romania.

300 MW solar partnership for the Netherlands: Hanwha Solutions’ Q Energy of Germany has announced a partnership with Dutch solar developer Tomorrow Energy to co-develop a portfolio of 300 MW PV in the form of 21 projects in the Netherlands. All projects will range between 4 MW and 40 MW capacity, and will be greenfield in nature. Most of the PV facilities will be located in Southern Netherlands. This capacity will also be open for potential integration of storage, agrivoltaic and green hydrogen solutions. All projects are targeted to be constructed and grid connected within next 3 years.

Solarpack to acquire Solaer: Spanish solar energy company Solarpack has signed a share purchase agreement for acquire Solaer Holding to complement its own organic growth in Spain and Italy. Solaer comes to the Solarpack group with an advanced portfolio of more than 2.8 GW in these 2 countries. Transaction is expected to close by the end of 2022 post regulatory approvals. “This is a transformational move for Solarpack to lead the consolidation of the sector in Spain and reinforce our position as a sizeable global player with the support of our shareholders,” said Solarpack CEO Pablo Burgos.

€100 million trade facility for Mainstream: Ireland based global renewable energy company Mainstream Renewable Power has secured an additional €100 million trade facility taking the total facility to €300 million. The company said this support from DNB Bank, ABN AMRO and sureties will help it further expand the business with enhanced working capital and direct equity commitment. Mainstream counts its global renewable energy portfolio of solar and wind projects at 27 GW. The company counts Aker Horizons and Mitsui among its stakeholders.

Gonvarri Solar Steel’s 150 MW order from Spain: Solar trackers and fixed structures manufacturer Gonvarri Solar Steel has secured an order to supply 150 MW to Grenergy for Belinchon Spain Project. It will be delivering 3,272 TracSmarT + 1V single and dula row solar trackers and 232,470 panels. The company claims to have supplied 16 GW worth of products so far.

Menlo Electric expands into Romania: European solar PV distributor Menlo Electric has opened its new regional headquarters in Bucharest, Romania. With a new Romanian subsidiary called Menlo Electric SRL, the company sees the move as supplying fastest delivery to clients in Romania and Europe through its warehouse in Constanta. It claims to have delivered 50 MW to Romania in Q3, signaling growing demand for solar here. Menlo now aims to extend its Romanian portfolio to more than 100 companies by the end of 2022. It is an official EU distributor of solar components of JinkoSolar, Risen Energy, along with JA Solar, Sungrow, SolarEdge and FoxESS.
