Andhra Pradesh finalizes bids for 5.8 GW PV: A news report by Press Trust of India refers to a statement issued by the Andhra Pradesh Green Energy Corporation Limited (APGECL) saying that the agency has finalized bids for 5.8 GW capacity out of a 6.4 GW solar tender it launched under the state’s 10 GW solar power scheme for farmers. While confirming winners as NTPC for 600 MW capacity, Adani for 2.4 GW, Torrent Power for 300 MW, Shirdi Sai Electricals for 2.2 GW and HES Infra for 300 MW, the agency said it hasn’t yet finalized the INR 2.58 per kWh bid offered by Adani for a 600 MW project as it was deemed higher compared to other bids offered between INR 2.47 per kWh to INR 2.49 per kWh (see Andhra Pradesh Auctions 6.4 GW Solar PV Capacity).

MPUVNL revises solar target in tender: The Madhya Pradesh Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (MPUNNL) has introduced upward revision in the total solar power capacity it tendered in December 2020, to select solar power developers under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM) scheme. Under the request for proposal (RFP) launched, it has increased the capacity from 100 MW to now 300 MW. Power generated by the solar systems installed will be sold to Madhya Pradesh Power Management Company (MPPMCL). Bids can be submitted till February 23, 2021, according to the original tender issued.

Tender for EPC contractors for 25 MW floating solar power: NHDC Ltd. has issued a tender to seek EPC contractors to set up 25 MW of floating solar power capacity at Omkareshwar Reservoir in Khandwa district in Madhya Pradesh. It needs to be set up as 13 MW and 12 MW capacities with comprehensive operation and maintenance services for 5 years. Last date to submit bids is February 18, 2021. The tender can be viewed on Government of India’s eprocurement website with tender ID 2021_NHDC_613999_1. This seems to be a re-tender as NHDC had previously issued this tender in July 2019 (see 25 MW Floating Solar Tender In India). In January 2021, the Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Limited (RUMSL) issued a tender to seek transaction advisory services for the development of a 600 MW floating solar park at Omkareshwar Dam (see India PV Snippets: CIAL, RUMSL, MPUVNL, NTPC).

AGEL commissions 100 MW PV capacity: Adani Solar Energy Four Private Limited (ASE4PL), a subsidiary of Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL), has commissioned 2×50 MW solar power capacity in Uttar Pradesh (UP). One project is located at Jalalabad in Shahjahanpur district and another at Sahaswan in Budaun district. Both projects were commissioned 1 month ahead of the scheduled commissioning date and hold a 25-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with the Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) to sell power for INR 3.22 per kWh and INR 3.19 per kWh. With these projects energized, AGEL’s cumulative operational renewable energy capacity has grown to 3,245 MW.

24 million units solar power traded in January 2021: The Indian Energy Exchange (IEX) says in the month of January 2021, there was 47% annual growth in electricity volume traded reaching an all time high volume of 7,434 million units (MU). A total of 92.4 MU were registered in the Green Term Ahead Market with promising response coming from distribution utilities, renewable energy generators and open access consumers. In the solar segment, 24 MU were traded and 68.4 MU in non-solar segment. GTAM has traded 641 MU since its launch on August 21, 2020 (see Amplus Energy Trading Solar Energy On GTAM).
