According to report analysts, renewable energy will cover around 70% of gross electricity demand in Germany by 2030, for which solar PV capacity should expand to 150 GW, and reach 385 GW by 2045, from over 55 GW today.

A new Agora Energiewende commissioned study explores Germany’s chances of achieving its 65% renewable energy target by 2030 under five different scenarios with higher shares of solar and wind installations - and only in the current policy scenario it is likely to miss the target and end up with a 55% share.
