India Extends Safeguard Duty For Another Year
Acting On DGTR Recommendation, Indian Finance Ministry Extends Safeguard Duty On Solar Cells & Modules Imported From China, Thailand & Vietnam
Earlier India mandated imported solar cells whether or not assembled in modules or panels from China and Malaysia to pay a safeguard duty. Now, under the extension, similar imports from Vietnam will also be expected to pay up the duties.

Days before India's solar safeguard duty is set to expire on July 30, 2020, the Director-General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) has recommended extension of the same for Chinese and Malaysian PV cells imported into India for another year.
