1 GW Solar Capacity To Replace US Coal Facilities

• BSF has engaged the services of OSS to build over 1 GW of utility scale solar power capacity in the US
• This capacity is to replace redundant coal facilities in the country with activity to begin from Q2/2021
• Initial investment of $725 million is expected for the 1 GW capacity to come up over next 3 years

Orbital Solar Services (OSS) has secured an EPC contract from Black Sunrise Half Century Fund (BSF) to remediate now redundant coal facilities in the US, replacing these with solar facilities. Over the next 3 years, OSS will build over 1 GW PV capacity beginning Q2/2021. Initial investment on this 1 GW capacity is expected to amount to $725 million.

BSF was created by clean energy developer Akon Lighting America named after global pop icon Akon who had announced the partnership between BSF and OSS at the Clean Energy for America Inaugural Ball of US President Joe Biden on January 20, 2021

A wholly owned subsidiary of Orbital Energy Group, Inc. OSS claims to have executed 40 solar projects with over 600 MW capacity. It will be responsible for providing full EPC services for the solar facilities of BSF.
