LONGi launches carbon reduction initiative: At the 2021 Supplier Conference, Chinese vertically integrated solar PV company LONGi launched the Green Supply Chain Carbon Reduction Initiative. This is in response to the carbon emission and energy reduction goals announced by General Secretary Xi at the Climate Ambition Summit in December 2020. Through this initiative, LONGi strives to actively carry out green supply chain management and continue to reduce carbon emissions in the supply chain. In March 2020, LONGi officially joined the Global Initiative RE100, committing to sourcing 100% of renewable electricity across its entire global operations by 2028, with an interim target of 70% by 2027. In November 2018, LONGi announced its “Solar for Solar” concept of manufacturing clean energy products using 100% clean energy

SPIC to construct 1 GW PV power generation project in Jiangxi: Jiangxi branch of State Power Investment Corporation has partnered with Huichang County Government to construct a photovoltaic power generation base. The investment for the project, which will be based in Huichang, is about RMB 5 billion ($0.77 billion) and the installed capacity is 1 GW. The project, which is expected to be completed in 5 years, will generate an annual power of about 1 billion kwh and an annual income of RMB 500 million ($77.31 million).

Yonggao to establish new solar production base in Anhui: In an announcement, Yonggao Co., Ltd. said that it intends to invest RMB 50 million ($7.73 million) in its wholly-owned subsidiary Zhejiang Gongyuan Solar Technology Co., Ltd. The funds will then be used by Zhejiang Gongyuan Solar to establish a wholly-owned subsidiary in Anhui. This move will enable the company to further strengthen its activities in  the solar energy business.

Elion Group and CECEP Solar sign strategic agreement: PV Module manufacturer CECEP Solar and ecological restoration company Elion Group signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Beijing. With this partnership, both the companies will be working towards solar energy product manufacturing; industrial chain coordination; development, investment, construction and operation of ecological power stations; and regional ecological environment management.

Huaneng to achieve 10 GW new energy installed capacity: China Huaneng Group’s 300 MW photovoltaic project in Hainan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture has been successfully connected to the grid for power generation. With this development, Huaneng has achieved installed capacity of new energy exceeding 10 GW.
