L&T to build 400 MW solar in Gujarat: The Power Transmission & Distribution (PTD) business of Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has secured 2 EPC orders to build over 400 MW solar PV capacity in Gujarat. It will provide design, engineering, supply, construction, testing, commissioning and operation and maintenance services to the 2 projects of 200 MW each, the company shared in a stock exchange filing.

RE powered datacenters by Adani: Adani Enterprises has announced a joint venture with EdgeConneX to develop and operate 1 GW of data center capacity across India over the next decade. This will be largely powered by renewable energy. Initially these datacenters will be built in Chennai, Navi Mumbai, Noida, Vizag and Hyderabad. “The partnership will leverage Adani’s expertise in full-stack energy management, renewable power and real estate development, as well as its experience in building and managing large infrastructure projects throughout India,” said Adani.

90 MW solar plant in Madhya Pradesh: Essar Power’s Board of Directors will set up a 90 MW solar project in Madhya Pradesh which will mark its foray into the renewable energy space. It will be located in Bhander, Datia district on 105 hectares of land. The company will build the project in 2 phases of 33.7 MW and 56.17 MW. Power generated will be supplied to industrial consumers within the state once its is online by June 2022. Essar Power is an investee company of Essar Global Fund (EGFL) that’s investing in hydrogen power in the UK and coal gas in India, reported news agency Press Trust of India (PTI).

Tender for 5 MW floating solar project: The West Bengal Power Development Corporation Limited (WBDCL) has sought bids for a 5 MW grid connected floating solar PV plant to come up on raw water pond no. 1 in Santhaldih Thermal Power Station (STPS) in Purulia. The winner will also provide 5 years comprehensive O&M services to the project. Last date to submit bids is April 12, 2021, according to tender announcement. In March 2020, WBPDCL issued a turnkey development tender for 10 MW floating solar power plant for Sagardighi Thermal Power Plant (see 10 MW Floating Solar Power Tender Launched In West Bengal).
