• Tunisia has awarded 10 MW of solar PV capacity which was part of the 70 MW solar tender the government had announced in 2018
  • While the Ministry of Energy, Mines and Renewable Energy declared winners for 6 projects with 10 MW capacity each earlier in April 2019, it did not disclose the fate of remaining 10 MW
  • Now, the government has released the names of 10 winners that have won 1 MW capacity each

The Tunisian Ministry of Energy, Mines and Renewable Energy has released the list of winners for 10 MW solar power capacity that was part of the 70 MW tender issued in 2018. Out of 70 MW, it auctioned 6 projects of 10 MW each earlier in April 2019, but left out the remaining 10 MW (see Tunisia Awards 60 MW Solar PV Capacity).

The 10 MW capacity comprises 10 projects of 1 MW each. In a brief announcement, the ministry identifies the winners of the projects as:

  • Sud Oil and Gas
  • Mourad Neji
  • Ouedrni Mohamed
  • Abdelhamid Zribi
  • Mohamed Ben Larbi
  • Ben Ayed Tarek
  • Perenco
  • Birriri Hatem
  • Karim Noureddine Zahmoul

The 70 MW auction is the country’s second PV auction under its authorization regime. Out of 70 MW tendered in the first round, it awarded 64 MW.
