Prof. Eicke R. Weber, former director of Germany's Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems (ISE), has joined renewable energy transaction advisory and strategy consulting firm Apricum – The Cleantech Advisory as senior advisor.
Weber left ISE after serving the institute for a decade in November 2016 (see Eicke Weber Retires From Fraunhofer ISE). A strong proponent and expert on PV and storage, Weber is now on Apricum's senior advisor team that comprises industry leaders, investment bankers, engineers, scientists and entrepreneurs spread in more than 10 countries globally.
As Senior Advisor, Weber will work alongside full-time staff of Apricum on various projects. Apricum Managing Partner Nikolai Dobrott called him one of the giants of the solar industry and said his technical expertise, outstanding business acumen and unparalleled experience will be of extreme value to Apricum's clients.
"I've followed the progress of Apricum since Nikolai founded it in 2008 and have been impressed by the team of experts he has brought together and the impressive track record of projects. Now that I have moved back to Berlin, I am looking forward to contributing to a range of advisory projects around the world," said Weber.
Weber is currently the vice president of the International Solar Energy Society (ISES) and serves as advisor to several start-ups in Germany, the USA and China.
