Laser micromachining and roll-to-roll laser processing systems specialist from Germany 3D-Micromac AG has secured a ‘consortium of US investors’ as majority stakeholders in the firm, following which the board member Uwe Wagner has been appointed to lead the technology company.

Wagner takes over from the company’s Founder and previous majority shareholder Tino Petsch who has sold part of his share package and will withdraw from operative business. Petsch founded the business in 2002. He will remain with the company he founded as a consultant and remain associated as a shareholder.

Wagner has been with 3D-Micromac AG since 2012 and grew to become its chief technology officer (CTO) in 2017. He was also appointed as the Managing Director of 3D-Micromac America, LLC in 2016. An electrical engineer/communication engineer by degree, Wagner has worked with varied technology companies including Laser Zentrum Hanover (LZH), LPKF Laser & Electronics AG, and Jenoptik Automatisierungstechnik GmbH and Jenoptik Laser GmbH.

“With his industry experience and many years in the management of 3D-Micromac AG, Uwe Wagner is ideally qualified to successfully continue the company’s current path and to establish 3D-Micromac even more firmly as an innovator in growth markets such as the semiconductor and display industries. We put our trust in him and wish him every success,” said Tino Petsch and the Supervisory Board of the company.
