Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Limited (RUMSL) has launched a tender seeking consultants for its proposed 600 MW floating solar PV plant in Madhya Pradesh. Selected consultant will be required to conduct Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) for the project.

Part of the job description is to also study auxiliary structures, including floating/marine structures, and transmission infrastructure. Project is to be deployed atop Kaveri branch reservoir of Omkareshwar Dam, reads the tender document.

Request for proposal (RFP) document can be viewed on MP government’s tender website with tender to be found through No. F/RUM/2021/REP/09-29/620. Last date to submit bids is September 13, 2021.

In January 2021, RUMSL sought transaction advisory for the 600 MW floating PV project which probably will be among the largest floating solar power projects in the country when completed (see India PV News Snippets: CIAL, RUMSL, MPUVNL, NTPC).

Recently, Indian utility NTPC Limited commissioned 25 MW floating solar PV project in Andhra Pradesh, calling it the country’s largest such facility (see India’s ‘Largest’ Floating PV Facility Online).
