- JinkoSolar has announced achieving 23.86% efficiency for its 182mm n-type solar module
- It uses JinkoSolar’s own large size monocrystalline silicon TOPCon cell with 26.1% efficiency
- The company claims it has achieved efficiency of 23.86% for the first time for 2 mm2 above large-size solar modules
German testing and certification agency TUV Rheinland has independently tested and confirmed JinkoSolar’s claims of achieving efficiency of 23.86% for its 182mm n-type module that’s equipped with the company’s own large size monocrystalline silicon TOPCon solar cell with 26.1% efficiency (see 26.1% Efficiency For JinkoSolar’s N-Type Silicon Cell).
The module adopted JinkoSolar’s latest TOPCon cell technology and advanced interconnection approach and achieved conversion efficiency of ‘23.86% for the first time for 2 mm2 above large-size solar modules’, claims JinkoSolar.
According to the company, the advanced interconnection technology and layout effectively brings down internal resistance loss of the module thereby significantly improving conversion efficiency.
The 23.86% efficiency exceeds the company’s previous module efficiency record of 23.53% efficiency for n-type modules, announced in July 2021. While the module is not a commercial product, the Chinese company says this lab result lays the ‘practical foundation’ for the module to be introduced into mass production and also ‘technically’ sets the direction for mass production of subsequent advanced products.
