Three solar PV plants with a combined capacity of 45 MW have been energized in the Russian Republic of Buryatia, and each is designed to generate about 20 million kWh of clean power annually. Developed by project company Terawatt LLC and owned by Austrian investment fund Core Value Capital GmbH, the plants are located in Kyakhtinsky, Kabansky and Tarbagatai regions.
Green Source Consulting GmbH of Austria and large-scale energy project manager Vershina Development LLC are acting as project managers for the three plants.
The three projects were part of 75 MW capacity that entered construction in June 2019 through EPC company Gildemeister Energy Solutions GmbH and LSG Group of Austria (see Ground Broken On 75 MW Solar PV In Russia).
With 15 MW capacity each, every project is equipped with 48,000 solar modules. These projects were developed as a special purpose vehicle (SPP) each and financed by VTB Bank (PJSC) and Oesterreichische Kontrollbank Aktiengesellschaft (OeKB) or the Austrian Control Bank.
The Republic of Buryatia in Siberia will be able to earn additional revenues of over RUB 60 million ($0.94 million) annually in the form of property tax with these plants that will also help in improving quality of power supply in the region, reduce load on network infrastructure.
