500 MW Wind-Solar Hybrid Power Tender By MSEDCL

MSEDCL Launches Tender To Procure Power From Grid Connected Interstate And Intrastate 500 MW Wind-Solar Hybrid Facilities
500 MW Wind-Solar Hybrid Power Tender By MSEDCL

The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Co. Ltd. (MSEDCL) has launched a new tender to procure electricity generated from 500 MW wind-solar hybrid power capacity from grid connected projects located interstate and intrastate.

Through request for selection (RFS) documents issued, MSEDCL wants to procure this capacity to fulfill its renewable purchase obligation (RPO) and to meet future power requirements. Selected bidders will enter into 25-year power purchase agreement with MSEDCL to supply power at a fixed tariff.

Minimum project size of a single hybrid power project located intrastate will be 25 MW of wind-solar hybrid projects with projects of at least 10 MW at a single location and 50 MW for interstate  facilities.

Rated project capacity of 1 resource – wind or solar, would need to be at least 33% of the total contracted capacity.

MSEDCL is holding a pre-bid meeting on May 19, 2021 and will accept submissions by June 8, 2021, according to tender documents released.

The September 2019 wind-solar hybrid tender launched by MSEDCL had tariffs capped at INR 2.80 per kWh for 80 MW capacity (see MSEDCL Issues 80 MW Wind Solar Hybrid Power Tender).

The 500 MW hybrid solar tender follows another 500 MW grid connected solar power tender launched last week by MSEDCL under phase VI from interstate and intrastate projects (see 500 MW Solar PV Tender Under Phase-VI Launched By MSEDCL).
