180 MW Solar Module Fab Online In Algeria

A new solar panel production factory of Zergoun Green Energy, with 180 MW annual production capacity in Algeria was recently inaugurated in Ouargla region by the country's Minister of Industry Ahmed Zaghdar and Minister of Energy Transition and Renewable Energy Bin Atou Zian.

In a Facebook post, the Ministry of Industry called the project 1st of its kind in the country aligned with the framework of Solar 1000 which is a government program to install 1 GW solar power capacity (see 1 GW Solar Tender Launched In Algeria).

According to a news report by local news agency APS, the solar panel fab will meet 40% of domestic solar market needs and supply modules to 5 upcoming projects in the provinces of Ouargla, Touggourt, Bechar, El-Oued and Laghouat under Solar 1000 program.

Back in 2021, Mondragon Assembly announced commissioning its 100 MW solar PV module assembly line in Constantine, Algeria for Milltech which the latter had plans to expand to 200 MW.
