Emmvee’s 3 GW PV Manufacturing Plant Under MoU With Karnataka

Indian solar module maker Emmvee is expanding its annual solar production capacity from 500 MW now to 3.5 GW, adding it in the same state of Karnataka, the company announced.

Currently, Emmvee has a 500 MW solar module manufacturing plant in Karnataka's capital Bengaluru. The company's 2nd production capacity will come up in Dobaspet in rural Bengaluru, and have 3 GW solar cells and module production capacity.

Emmvee has also signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the State Government of Karnataka to establish the INR 8.25 billion ($110 million) fab and provide jobs to some 736 locals. The manufacturer has supplied over 1.5 GW of PV modules in India and across the world.

The company is one of the applicants for Indian Renewable Energy Agency's (IREDA) Production Linked Incentive (PLI) tender for solar manufacturing that has attracted 55 GW in total bids (see IREDA's PLI Scheme Attracts 55 GW In Bids).
