  • Ecoprogetti says it has completed the installation of a 300 MW solar module line in India

  • SAEL will operate this line to produce double-glass panels with TOPCon cell technology

  • This isn’t SAEL’s 1st order with Ecoprogetti, since it has been operating the latter’s module line since 2011

Indian solar energy developer and module manufacturer Sustainable and Affordable Energy for Life (SAEL) has installed a 300 MW solar module production line, supplied and installed by Italian equipment manufacturer Ecoprogetti.

The glass-glass panel production line is equipped to work with the latest TOPCon cell technology, according to the Italian supplier.

It added, “While 300 MW may seem modest for India’s scale, the standout achievement is the production of Double Glass TOPCon panels. Few manufacturers in India are equipped to produce these advanced panels, and even fewer can do so with the precision and quality SAEL consistently delivers.”

This is a new order for SAEL, which has been producing solar modules on Ecoprogetti-supplied machinery since 2011. The latter says SAEL has been assembling over 190 to 200 panels daily with its 24/7 production line. These modules are also exported across Europe, including the Netherlands and Norway.

According to SAEL’s website, it operates 2.3 GW of module assembly lines in Rajasthan and Punjab. By October 2024, this was to be enhanced to 3.6 GW.  Ecoprogetti was one of the participants of the Solar-Made in the USA conference organized by TaiyangNews with EUPD Research at RE+ in the US this year where it showcased the company’s fully automated turnkey lines (see Solar - Made In The USA: Takeaways From Session 3 Of The Conference).
