Emmvee has started commercial operations of a 2.5 GW solar module manufacturing line at its Sulibele facility near Bengaluru, completed on schedule
With this addition, the group’s total operational module capacity reaches 10.3 GW, up from 7.8 GW at the end of June 2025
The company is progressing with further expansion, including plans for 6 GW of integrated cell and module manufacturing in Karnataka, for which it has now secured 100 acres
Indian solar PV manufacturer Emmvee Photovoltaic Power Limited has announced the commercial operations of its 2.5 GW solar module line in Karnataka. The line was completed within the envisaged timeline, it added.
Commissioned through its wholly owned subsidiary Emmvee Energy Private Limited (EEPL), the production line is located at its factory in Sulibele, Hosakote Taluk of Bengaluru. It is part of the company’s planned capacity expansion as disclosed in its initial public offering (IPO) through which it raised INR 29 billion.
This expands the group’s total operational module manufacturing capacity to 10.3 GW. At the end of June 30, 2025, Emmvee’s installed capacity stood at 7.8 GW for modules and 2.94 GW cells. Its overarching target is to expand capacity to 16.30 GW for modules, and 8.94 GW for cells based on TOPCon solar cells.
Additionally, Emmvee has secured the possession certificate from the Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB) for 100 acres of land. The manufacturer plans to set up 6 GW of integrated solar PV cell and module manufacturing in Karnataka’s Devanahalli with plans to bring it online in H1 2028 (see Emmvee Advances 6 GW Integrated Solar PV Expansion Plans).
“This development marks a significant milestone in Emmvee’s journey towards strengthening backward integration, which is expected to enhance cost control and margin stability, strengthen supply chain management, and mitigate geopolitical risks, thereby improving overall competitiveness,” stated Emmvee.
In a separate announcement, Emmvee Energy has agreed to invest up to INR 8.54 crore to acquire equity shares of Clean Renewable Energy KK 1C Private Limited under the group’s active and open access power purchase framework. The 14.35% stake in the company will enable it to procure cost-effective renewable energy for its operations.
In an exclusive conversation at Renewable Energy India Expo 2025 (REI 2025) as part of TaiyangNews Leadership Talks, Emmvee Group President and CEO Suhas Donthi shared the company’s plans to venture into ingots and wafer production, aligned with MNRE’s policy roadmap (see TaiyangNews Leadership Talks: Emmvee Group At REI 2025).
TaiyangNews will host the 2nd edition of the Solar Technology Conference India (STC.I 2026) on February 5 and 6, 2026, in New Delhi. The event will bring together the who’s who and emerging players in the Indian solar PV manufacturing space. Details are available here.
