  • Enovos has announced its largest solar power plant to date to come up in Germany, with 214 MW capacity
  • The 11 solar power plants that this capacity will be realized as, will be equipped with more than 38,000 solar modules
  • Project is designed such that it can be retrofitted to include large scale storage component in the future

German renewables company Enovos Renewables GmbH will be building its largest solar power plant to date with 214 MW capacity in Germany's low mountain range Eifel, designed to accommodate large energy storage systems in the future through retrofitting.

The renewable energy subsidiary of German electricity and gas supplier Encevo Deutschland GmbH, Enovos said the project comprising 11 solar power systems will be equipped with more than 380,000 solar modules.

Power generated from the facility on completion will be sufficient to cater to the electricity requirements of around 60,000 households.

Electricity produced by the PVA Südeifel facility will be fed directly into the high-voltage network which the project partners called its special feature.

Enovos will execute the project through the project company Solarkraftwerke Südeifel GmbH & Co. KG in which it is the majority stakeholder with 74.9% stake, and 25.1% shareholding belongs to SWT Stadtwerke Trier Versorgungs-GmbH. SE (Schoenergie) is on board as the general contractor for planning and construction.

Enovos also operates in Luxembourg where in October 2021, it launched the country's 1st floating solar farm on a former cooling pond of steel producer ArcelorMittal Differdange.
