European Energy’s 9M/2022 EBITDA Grew By €78.1 Million

Danish renewable energy developer European Energy A/S has had a good run with its financials during 9M/2022 with its EBITDA growing by €78.1 million YoY to €96.2 million, with Q3/2022 contributing €19.2 million, and a development pipeline of 25 GW.  These numbers give it confidence to exit 2022 as 'another solid year'.

EBITDA for Q3/2022 came mostly from power sales, followed by project sales. Higher power prices boosted its EBITDA in Q3/2022 with which it has now exceeded full year 2021 EBITDA of €81.2 million.

Revenues for the reporting quarter added up to €52.2 million, up 11% annually. Gross profit too jumped up €23.3 million to €34.0 million. The company brought online 526 MW new capacity, compared to 382 MW a year back.

The renewables developer and IPP maintains its annual EBITDA forecast of €135 million and a profit before tax of €100 million for 2022.

At the end of September 2022, European Energy's renewable energy pipeline was a total of 50 GW, out of which the development pipeline amounted to 25 GW. The latter comprised 20.7 GW of solar PV and 4.2 GW wind power projects.

"Pipelines of this size position European Energy as one of the largest European onshore wind and solar energy developers," stated the company.

Regarding its solar project pipeline, European Energy noted, "Supply chain and production capacity issues were noted in some instances during Q3/2022. The required goods and services have been ordered and are underway, although we do see delays in certain categories. We remain confident that we can meet our projects' construction timelines throughout the rest of 2022."
