  • Reden will be responsible for building, maintenance and operation of the ground mounted projects

French solar power company and module manufacturer Reden Solar has entered a framework agreement with Italian solar PV systems developer Energy 4 Synergy (E4SY) to develop a minimum of 300 MW solar PV portfolio in Italy's Puglia.

Project construction is to be completed in annual tranches of 100 MW, with the latest one to be finalized by 2027-end, according to the duo.

Energy produced by these utility scale plants will be sold either via GSE organized competitive auctions or through bilateral power purchase agreements (PPA).

Both the companies have their roles cut out with E4SY managing all technical, environmental studies and securing required administrative clearances. Reden Solar will contribute with building, maintenance and operation of the facilities.

E4SY says it is developing more than 1.5 GW solar PV capacity in Italy, with special focus on agrivoltaics and also develops integrated solutions to produce green hydrogen. Italy supports agrivoltaic installations under a €1.2 billion support scheme (see Italy's €1.2 Billion Agrivoltaic Scheme Approved).

Reden, on the other hand, ventured into the Italian PV market in 2021 and counts its solar PV portfolio under late-stage development or construction as totaling 312 MW, along with a pipeline of 500 MW in early stage of development.

"This agreement with E4SY supports REDEN's growth in Italy and it is part of our co-development strategy, which includes partnerships with experienced and solid developers," said Reden Italy's Country Manager Eng Luca Crisi.

Reden operates a 65 MW module manufacturing line in France. In April 2023, it announced plans to add a 200 MW new manufacturing line to expand capacity (see 200 MW New Solar Module Capacity In France).
