Spanish solar inverter manufacturer Gamesa Electric has landed a contract to supply its award winning central inverters to Siemens AG with an 'expected volume of GW scale per year' for latter to use for its solar PV and storage solutions.

Under the strategic agreement signed, Siemens will source Proteus Inverters from Gamesa that come with high power output of up to 4700kW and 'record' efficiency of 99.45%. Gamesa won an award for these inverter series at the recently concluded Intersolar Europe 2022 (see Day 1 Highlights From Intersolar Europe 2022).

For Gamesa, this contract expands the commercial reach of the Proteus series that's aligned with its global marketing strategy 'allowing us to increase market share through our strategic partners with global reach', explained the company's Managing Director Juan Barandiaran.
