Spain based solar tracker manufacturer PV Hardware (PVH) has bagged a deal to supply its trackers for 2.97 GW DC solar capacity that will power, what is being touted as, the world's largest 100% renewable energy powered hydrogen plant in Saudi Arabia's NEOM, after the company was selected by Indian multinational EPC company Larsen & Toubro (L&T).
The Indian company is to construct a 2.97 GW DC/2.2 GW AC PV plant, 1.65 GW wind generation balance plant and a 400 MWh battery energy storage system for the NEOM green hydrogen project.
PVH will now provide trackers for the solar PV project from its Jeddah fab in Saudi Arabia that has an annual production capacity of 8 GW (see 8 GW Solar Tracker Factory Launched In Saudi Arabia).
The Neom Green Hydrogen Company (NGHC) is building the green hydrogen project to produce up to 600 tons per day to reach up to 1.2 million tons of green ammonia by 2026. All of it is to be exported as ammonia by US gas and chemicals company Air Products under an exclusive offtake agreement (see Green Hydrogen Powered B y Over 4 GW RE).
A planned smart city in Saudi Arabia's Tabuk province, north of the Red Sea, NEOM is aimed to be developed as a sustainable city, powered entirely by 15 GW renewable energy by 2030.
PVH appears in TaiyangNews 2nd Market Survey on Solar Trackers, released in December 2022. The survey can be downloaded for free here.
