Q Energy has sold 2 Spanish solar power plants with 52.4 MWp capacity each to Dos Grados
Once commissioned, the plants will provide emission-free electricity to over 59,000 households
Q Energy will continue supporting the plants for the first 2 years after commissioning
Germany's Q Energy, a Hanwha Solutions company, has announced that it has sold its 2 Spanish PV plants to Dos Grados, a company focused on acquiring and managing sustainable real assets, for €80 million.
Spread across 220 hectares near Tordesillas in northern Spain, the construction has just begun and the plants are being built close to each other. The plants, each with a capacity of 52.4 MWp, will together utilize over 170,000 modules.
Q ENERGY will continue to be involved with the 2 plants for the first 2 years after commissioning, taking care of the EPC part as well as the operation and maintenance.
Speaking about this development, the management said: “This deal once again underlines Q ENERGY's expertise in developing and realising high-value renewable energy projects. We are proud to support the Spanish energy market with a development pipeline of around 5 GW of green power plants. Thus, the Tordesillas project is a further great milestone, with more to follow in the coming months.”
It is expected that by the summer of 2026, the plants will generate enough energy to supply emission-free electricity to about nearly 59,000 households, saving over 790,000 tons of CO2.
From the seller side, Uría Menendez was the legal advisor, while KPMG Corporate Finance and Transaction Services were the financial advisors.
In September 2024, Q ENERGY secured €50.4 million in funding for a 74.3 MW floating solar power plant (see Over €50 Million For Europe’s ‘Biggest’ Floating Solar Power Project).
