  • Rodina Energy Group from Ukraine will use Chinese solar modules and trackers for its international projects
  • It has secured 1 GW of S4 monofacial and bifacial solar module supply agreement from Seraphim Solar
  • Arctech Solar will provide it with 1 GW of solar trackers over the next 2 years
  • Rodina will use products for international expansion, including in North America

Eyeing its international markets, Ukraine based solar EPC and O&M service provider Rodina Energy Group has secured a large volume of Chinese solar modules and trackers with a combined capacity of 2 GW at the recently concluded SNEC 2021.

For solar modules, it has entered into a supply agreement with Jiangsu Seraphim Solar System Co., Ltd. for the delivery of Seraphim S4 series of monofacial and bifacial half-cell modules having 182mm silicon wafer sized cells with 0.6mm micro size spacing and high precision production technology.

Seraphim said its S4 modules are compatible with the existing system design, suitable for larger and larger utility scale PV projects. It launched the S4 half-cell series with a maximum output of up to 540W in December 2020 saying it aims to have around 3 GW annual production capacity for these (see Seraphim Launches New Half-Cell Solar Modules).

For solar trackers, Rodina has entered a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Arctech Solar, for 1 GW capacity to be delivered over the next 2 years. In a statement, the Chinese company did not specify what kind of trackers it will supply to Rodina under the arrangement, however it did share that the product will be used for Rodina's global markets especially for the North America, Central Asia and Eastern Europe. Arctech Solar presented on its latest developments at TaiyangNews Solar Trackers  2021 Conference with presentation recordings accessible here.

"In recent years, in addition to consolidating its presence in Eastern Europe and Central Asia, Rodina has been gradually expanding its business in North America and other markets, which is consistent with Seraphim's goal of providing global customers with high quality products and professional services," said Seraphim President Polaris Li.

Recently Seraphim secured a 100 MW order from Menlo Electric for the Central European market (see China PV News Snippets: Seraphim, Suntech, Baotou Meike).

Rodina is a registered partner of Germany's solar developer and IPP Enerparc AG, and both implemented a 1 MW solar power plant on the site of Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant in October 2018 (see Chernobyl Solar Plant Inaugurated).
