GameChange Solar, the leading US solar tracker manufacturer, has officially announced a new manufacturing facility in Brazil's Bahia region to exclusive produce its Genius Tracker solution. The fab with 2.5 GW annual capacity has been operational since November 2023.

The manufacturer has also secured FINAME certification from the Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) that ensures that the Genius trackers produced here meet Brazil's domestic content and manufacturing process requirements.

"Having the factory and service center in addition to our business headquarters in São Paolo is such a great step for us in Brazil. We will be able to provide unparalleled service to our customers with the ability to provide in-country manufacturing, training, service, and support," said GameChange Solar's Operations Director & Head of Brazil, Ion Acosta.

Along with Brazil, the Bahia fab will also cater to other Latin American nations. The capacity of the 2.5 GW fab can be expanded to meet additional demand, the company said.

On its website, GameChange says it has a total manufacturing capacity of 42 GW, including 24 GW of made-in-USA capacity for key components.

Before GameChange, China's TrinaTracker launched a 2.5 GW tracker fab in September 2023 in this growing Latin American market (see Chinese Company Launches Tracker Fab In Latam).

In December 2022, GameChange increased its total annual production capacity in the US to 24 GW, spread across various states with up to 30 GW of available production capacity for key systems (see GameChange Solar Expands US Manufacturing Capacity To 24 GW).
