Entergy Services LLC, an electricity utility in the US, has issued a draft request for proposal (RFP) documents to source up to 500 MW AC solar PV capacity, on behalf of group entity Entergy Louisiana, LLC (ELL). It is seeking comments and feedback to this draft document, and is targeting to issue final RFP documents on May 11, 2021.
As per the draft RFP, projects to be submitted in response to this RFP should be located in the Southeast Louisiana Planning Area (SELPA). "Siting new solar generation in SELPA may enable ELL to deactivate legacy gas units in SELPA when economic to do so and to develop "green tariff" options for customers that have expressed an interest in accessing attributes of renewable energy," reads the RFP.
A single proposal submitted must be for a minimum capacity of at least 50 MW, and maximum 250 MW for power purchase agreements (PPA), and 250 MW for build-own-transfer (BOT) transactions. Bidders can also submit a battery energy storage system (BESS) to accompany the projects but as a separately priced option.
It will enable ELC to meet its long term resource planning objectives aligned with its Integrated Resource Plan.
Last date to submit feedback to this draft, available on the company website, is April 7, 2021.
In a related tender news from the US, AEP Energy Partners (AEPEP) has solicited proposals for off-take from new solar, new/repowered wind facilities and standalone or co-located BESS located in PJM region. "AEPEP will use the contracted offtake to support the company's growing retail, which includes the company's Integrated Renewable Energy (IRE) solution, and wholesale loads in PJM," stated AEPEP.
As per the RFP issued by AEPEP, last date to submit proposals is March 26, 2021.
