India-based REC Power Distribution Company Limited (RECPDCL) has invited bids to develop 10 MW rooftop solar project in Assam. The project will require setting up rooftop solar PV plants under the so-called CAPEX model for Assam Power Distribution Company Limited (APDCL). RECPDCL is a wholly owned subsidiary of REC Ltd., under the Ministry of Power. It works in the field of developing and investing in electricity distribution and its related activities.
The 10 MW capacity is divided in two parts of 5 MW each, with individual project capacities of 1 kW to 25 kW under Category A, and above 25 kW to 500 kW under Category B. All bidders have to mandatorily bid for Category A. In addition, they can also bid for Category B. A total of 40% of the tentative capacity of particular category will be allocated the successful bidder.
From the date of allocation, the project must be commissioned within 15 months.
APDCL wants to procure 250 MW capacity for the installation of grid connected rooftop solar PV power plant in Assam in the next five years. RECPDCL is a project management consultant (PMC) for the implementation of the 10 MW capacity. APDCL plans to use clean power for captive consumption, the excess power will be fed to the grid.
The e-tender was floated on January 25, 2017. Bids can be submitted until February 15, 2017. A pre-bid meeting is scheduled for February 1, 2017. Tender details with NIT No. RECPDCL/APDCL/GCRT/16-17/3433 are available on RECPDCL's website.
