A total of 20 companies and a consortia have bid for the 55 MW solar power tender in Armenia. The country's Ministry of Natural Resources and Energy Infrastructure has shared that interest in the project has come from countries like China, the US, Germany, Spain, South Korea, Iran and other nations.
In May 2017, Armenia had launched the 55 MW Masrik-1 solar tender for the Gegharkunik province (see 55 MW PV Tender In Armenia).
All interested parties will now compete with each other, with the one offering the lowest and most competitive price to win the tender, informed Minister Hayk Harutyunyan.
Armenia has approved 110 MW of solar power capacity to come up in six locations. The 55 MW power plant in Masrik Gegharkunik constitutes first phase of the same.
The tender process for the 55 MW plant is scheduled to complete in 2018.
