The United States Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) is supporting a 25 MW solar power project in Sierra Leone. American engineering and design companies have an opportunity to partner with a Sierra Leone firm for the hybrid solar project.

The project is to be delivered in two phases. Phase 1 is a 5 MW grid connected PV facility in Bo city. In phase 2, 20 MW capacity will come as a hybrid solar-diesel battery plant.

The project is being developed by independent power producer Solar Era Holdings, a subsidiary of Africa Growth Energy Solutions. It is seeking an EPC for phase 1.

The USTDA is supporting the development of phase 1 and the launch of phase 2 with a grant for a feasibility study to assess the technical, financial and economic liability of the project. The study is being carried out by Power Engineers, Inc.

Online submission will be accepted by June 16, 2017. The US agency has published a RfP on its website. For bidding instructions and other information, contact info@agecplc.com.
