Morocco aims to increase the share of renewable energy in its total installed power capacity to 42% by 2020 and scale it up to 52% by 2030. The 42% share translates into 6 GW of renewable energy capacity divided into 2 GW each for hydro, wind and solar power sources. As per the Ministry of Energy, Mines and Environment (MEME), till the end of 2018, Morocco's renewable energy share reached 34% with an installed renewable energy capacity of 3.7 GW comprising 1.77 GW of hydro power, 1.22 GW of wind and 711 MW of solar.
