82 Bids For North Macedonia Solar Tender

• For its 35 MW solar PV tender launched in June 2019, North Macedonia has received 82 bids in total
• This includes both domestic and international players who will compete to grab a slice of the capacity offered
• The Ministry of Economy says it will release the names of shortlisted bidders within 90 days

The Government of North Macedonia has received 82 bids for its 35 MW solar PV tender with both domestic and international companies interested in the market. According to the country's Ministry of Economy, within the next 90 days it will reveal the list of shortlisted bidders who will qualify for the next round.

The tender was launched in June 2019 for 25 MW to be developed in Azembegovo in Sveti Nikole and 10 MW in Manastirec in Makedonski Brod (see 35 MW Solar PV Tendered In North Macedonia).

Total capacity can be set up in the form of 1 MW, 2 MW, 5 MW and 10 MW with bids capped at €15 ($16.52) per kWh.

According to Balkan Green Energy News, the government will provide land to those winners that seek the lowest feed-in-premiums for the production of electricity under this tender. The price for grid connection will be in the range of €20,000 to €30,000 ($22,030 to $33,040), it reports.
