The Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Organization (SATBA) in Iran says it has selected 85 companies as pre-qualifiers for the country's 4 GW solar PV tender, out of total interest received from 106 candidates.

Iran launched the 4 GW solar tender in April 2022, opening the international tender mandating a minimum project capacity of 10 MW (see Iran's SATBA Launches 4 GW Solar Tender).

So far, SATBA said 152 sites in 30 provinces across the nation have been identified and introduced to the qualifiers to construct this capacity. A single project should have 10 MW minimum capacity which can go up to a maximum of 250 MW. Winners of this auction will be eligible to win power purchase contracts of 20 years.

Earlier, SATBA and the federal Ministry of Energy had signed memorandum of understanding with unidentified private players for 10 GW renewable energy plants in the country while sharing that it received interest for 90 GW in response to 10 GW call (see MoU For 10 GW Renewable Energy In Iran).
