  • China's Akcome Technology will be supplying its fixed racking system for a large scale solar power plant in Vietnam
  • Being developed by Zhongnan Group, the plant has a capacity of 616 MW and is the country's 'largest' single sited solar project
  • Akcome will supply its fixed mounting system for 556 MW of  by June 30, 2020 to allow the project to achieve completion by December 2020

Chinese technology company Jiangsu Akcome Science & Technology has secured a contract to supply a fixed mounting system for solar modules for the 'largest' single sited solar power project in Vietnam. For the 616 MW project, Akcome says it has supplied 556 MW worth of fixed brackets.

The 616 MW solar power plant is being developed by another Chinese company Zhongnan Group in Ninh Thuan province of Vietnam. It is expected to come online in December 2020.

Akcome says it will start delivering the fixed racking system from mid-March 2020 and attempt to finish all delivery by June 30, 2020 so that the project can be commissioned by December 2020.

Akcome Group, a PV mounting system and solar module producer, says its total shipments at the end of 2019 had crossed 22 GW globally.

For Vietnam, the 616 MW project sounds gigantic by its sheer size since the two partners above claim it will be located on a single site. So far, the largest projects in terms of capacity installed were reported in the country in June 2019 when Thailand's B.Grimm Power commissioned 2 large scale solar power plants with a combined capacity of 420 MW (see B.Grimm Commissions 677 MW Solar In Vietnam).
