The US solar market has a new kid on the block called Ampliform, with a pipeline of more than 3 GW of utility scale solar, and solar+storage projects that has been launched by solar energy developer Prospect14 in a joint venture (JV) with other investors and operators.

The 3 GW pipeline comprises projects in early- and mid-stage development with initial plants expected to enter construction in 2023. The new platform is also pursuing additional greenfield projects, even though acquisitions eying a total development pipeline of over 10 GW by 2025.

Consortium of investors that have joined Prospect14 on this venture is led by Jones Family Office, Barings, George Kaiser Family Foundation, among others. Greens Ledge Renewable Partners' (GLRP) senior executives are in the executive leadership team of the JV, along with John Vivenzio and Mikael Andren.

Prospect14 that has originated more than 5 GW DC of solar, and solar+storage projects, will support Ampliform with greenfield origination, development and construction services.

"We are developing our projects with the intent to own and operate them efficiently, so we begin projects with the end in mind and implement creative, data-driven approaches to optimizing plant design, development, and construction," said GLRP Partner Brad Romine. "This will make Ampliform faster and more efficient at every stage from greenfield development through to operations."
