Energy China For 200 MW Agri-PV Project & More From Elion Greenergy, Tongwei, Sungrow, Shangji

Energy China Group signs 200 MW agri-PV project: Energy China Group in a press release said that Energy China Shaanxi Research Institute has signed a contract for a 200 MW agricultural-photovoltaic power generation project in Tianzhuang Town. The construction is scheduled to begin in April 2022. In January 2022, Energy China Group and Wubao County have signed an 800 MW wind energy-photovoltaic-hydropower-storage project for an investment of RMB 5.1 billion (see China PV News Snippets)

Elion Greenergy's announces PV projects status: Photovoltaic new energy business company, Elion Greenergy, made an announcement that the construction of the 0.5 GW photovoltaic desertification control project in Wuwei and the 2 GW photovoltaic desertification control project in Mengxi Kubuqi have begun construction, but no operating income has been generated so far. The investment on the Wuwei project is about RMB 600 million ($94.94 million), while the investment in Kubuqi is about RMB 1.5 billion ($0.24 billion). Tongwei releases Jan-Feb 2022 performance results:  Silicon and cell manufacturer Tongwei Group released an announcement regarding its key operating data from January to February 2022. Amid a boom in the photovoltaic industry, the company's main products saw strong production and sales. From January to February 2022, the company said that it has achieved an operating revenue of about RMB 16 billion ($2.53 billion), an increase of about 130% year-on-year; and net profit attributable to shareholders of about RMB 3.3 billion ($0.52 billion), an increase of about 650% year-on-year. Shangji Automation to produce silicon in Inner Mongolia: PV production equipment maker and mono-wafer company Shangji Automation said that the company is investing in the construction of a project with an annual output of 150,000 tons of high-purity industrial silicon and 100,000 tons of high-purity crystalline silicon in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. The total investment of the project is expected to be RMB 11.8 billion ($1.87 billion). The project will be divided into two phases. The first phase will have a design capacity of 80,000 tons of high-purity industrial silicon and 50,000 tons of high-purity crystalline silicon. The investment in the first phase is expected to be RMB 6 billion ($0.95 billion). The project, whose second phase will take place as per market conditions, is expected to reach production by 2024.

Sungrow inks 213 MW deal with Ibitu Energia in Brazil: Solar PV inverter supplier from China, Sungrow closed a 213 MW contract with Brazilian renewable energy company, Ibitu Energia. As per the contract, Sungrow will supply its 1500Vdc central inverter solutions for the construction of a solar complex in Piaui state called the Caldeirao Grande 2 Solar. This complex will facilitate decarbonization, and will turn the state into a national power hub in renewable energy generation and social development. In addition to supplying clean energy, the complex will also contribute to infrastructure improvements, tax collection, and create 900 jobs by the end of its construction, which will be in 2023.
