TaiyangNews Conference Pushing PERC To Its Limits to take place on 22 March; Suzhou Maxwell releases investor relation activities report; Wining HJT project reaches full production;  Jolywood invests in silicon projects; Drinda to increase capital for cell subsidiary.

TaiyangNews Virtual Conference on 22 March: TaiyangNews will be hosting a Virtual Conference titled: Pushing PERC To Its Limits – How To Manufacture Highest Efficiency Standard PERC Cells on 22 March from 09:30 – 12:30 CEST. PERC is the workhorse of today's solar industry. While there are serious efforts to commercialize further advanced cell technologies, stakeholders work hard to further improve the incumbent PERC to continue solar's cost reduction path. In fact, many recent company expansion announcements have been still based on PERC. In this Conference, the discussion will be around innovative production equipment solutions from leading suppliers  that will improve the performance of PERC cells and reduce costs. Suzhou Maxwell expects HJT market expansion to touch 20-30 GW: Releasing investor relations information, solar cell and module production equipment maker Suzhou Maxwell Technologies said that the cost of aluminum and steel parts have risen this year and a large number of standard parts are being shared with semiconductor equipment, which has led to an increase in cost. This, in turn, makes the cost reduction of HJT equipment this year less optimistic. The company also said that in 2021 the size of heterojunction orders had increased by 330%, compared to 2020, touching 8.1 GW. In 2022, the company expects the overall heterojunction market expansion plan to be in the scale of 20 to 30 GW.

Wining Energy's HJT solar cell project reaches full production: Wining Energy said that its high-efficiency heterojunction solar cell project in Funing Economic Development Zone has achieved full production status in the first phase. The investment of the first-phase project was RMB 800 million ($126 million). The second phase has an investment of RMB 5 billion ($0.79 billion). It will have an annual output of 2 GW HJT cells.

Jolywood to invest RMB 14 billion in Gujiao: Backsheet and cell/module manufacturer Jolywood  announcethat it has signed a cooperation and investment agreement with the Taiyuan Municipal People's Government and the Gujiao Municipal People's Governmen about a silicon project. Located in Guijao City, it will have an annual output of 200,000 tons of industrial silicon and 100,000 tons of high-purity polysilicon. The project will be developed in 2 phases and the total investment is about RMB 14 billion ($2.21 billion).

Drinda to increase capital of subsidiary: Automotive instrument panel assemblies producer Drinda said  it intends to increase the amount of capital to its subsidiary, Chuzhou Jietai New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., by RMB 498 million ($78.45 million). The intent of increasing the capital is to speed up the construction of the company's Anhui 16 GW high-efficiency solar cell base project and to meet the daily operation and development needs of the subsidiary.
