Sungrow launches Ultra Powerful String Inverter SG350HX: At Intersolar Europe 2021, Chinese solar PV inverter supplier Sungrow released its powerful SG350HX string inverter. The SG350HX features a maximum output power of 352 kW, which redefines high powered string inverters. The inverter is compatible with large-format modules and tracking systems. One of the challenges that inverter suppliers face is matching the requirements of high-powered large-format panels. SG350HX addresses that too and is compatible with 182 mm and 210 mm large-format high-efficiency bifacial modules with maximum input current of 20A each string, which allows using solar modules with power ratings of 600W and higher. Recently, Sungrow has partnered with China Gezhouba to develop products and cooperate in these 3 segments – PV power station construction, solar hydrogen production, and electrochemical energy storage (see China PV News Snippets: Zhongli, Maxwell, Sungrow, Northwest)

Runjian partners with Yongfu for 409 MW rooftop distributed PV project: Construction Engineering company Runjian announced that it has signed a whole-county rooftop distributed photovoltaic power generation project agreement with Yongfu County People's Government of Guilin City. With this agreement, the company will work on implementation of the project which has a capacity of about 409 MW and an investment of RMB 1.80 billion ($0.28 billion). The construction is planned to be completed within a year.

Jidian to invest RMB 150 mn in establishing 3 wholly-owned subsidiaries: State Grid Jilin Province Electric Power subsidiary Jidian announced that it intends to establish three wholly-owned subsidiaries – Baisheng Jidian Green Power Energy, Daan Jidian Green Hydrogen Energy Company, and Xinjiang Jidian Energy Company. All the 3 companies will have a registered capital of RMB 50 million ($7.75 million) each. The subsidiaries will focus on solar and wind power development, hydrogen production and hydrogen storage business, etc. Meanwhile in August 2021, State Grid Jilin Province Electric Power had announced that it will be establishing a wholly-owned subsidiary – Wangqing Jidian Energy Co., Ltd. – to coordinate the development of centralized and distributed photovoltaics in Wangqing County (see China PV News Snippets: Yunnan, State Grid, Jinggong, Levima)

LONGi silicon wafer price increases further: Chinese vertically integrated solar PV company LONGi, on its official website, announced its new silicon wafer prices. They are as below:

  • P-type monocrystalline silicon wafer M10 170μm thickness (182/247mm) is priced at RMB 6.87/piece ($1.06/piece), which is an increase of RMB 0.46/piece ($0.071/piece) from last month, and an overall increase of 7.18%
  • Monocrystalline silicon wafer P-type M6 170μm thickness (166/223mm) is RMB 5.73/piece ($0.89/piece), which is an increase of RMB 0.39/piece ($0.060/piece) from last month, and an overall increase of 7.3%
  • Monocrystalline silicon wafer P-type 158.75/223mm 170μm thickness silicon wafer is RMB 5.53/piece ($0.86/piece), which is an increase of RMB 0.29/piece ($0.045/piece) from last month, and an overall increase of 5.53%

Meanwhile, in October, LONGi had maintained the prices of monocrystalline wafers at the same level (see China PV News Snippet: LONGi, Topray, Zhanghuan, N-type)

TaiyangNews Virtual Conference on Inverters for Rooftop Solar 2021: Just a week to go for TaiyangNews Virtual Conference on Inverters for Rooftop Solar 2021. The Conference which will see in-depth discussions with leading inverter manufacturers and other stakeholders in the field will take place on 19 October 2021 from 09:30 – 13:15 CEST. The discussion will mainly revolve around the latest trends for a device that not only connects the solar panels to the grid but also brings the smartness increasingly needed for on-grid solar technology.
